Hello

Merrina O'Malley is a student at Bethel University studying to get a major in English and a minor in Spanish. Her hope for the future is to be able speak to those who may feel hurt or lost by way of literature, and to offer a place for everyone to feel at home. It would bring her great joy to take part in the creation of books that do just that. In her free time she loves to write poetry, create multimedia collage art, and peruse the Chicago Manual of Style.

2020-2022

English Writing and Spanish
Grand Canyon University

During her time at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona, she was blessed to experience a different type of culture. Merrina had many classes that focused more on professional and technical writing such as grant writing and instructive writing. She transferred after two years because the college did not have many opportunities for English majors.

Rachel Blood, Bethel University

"A brilliant commentary on balancing light and darkness, O’Malley’s work follows Emma, a college student struggling with self-image, donut-stealing roommates, and the toxicity of the modeling scene, from Michigan to Phoenix to the streets of LA. This will have you reevaluatingyour perspective on parts of the world you vowed to never see again."
